Roadies

As part of the the development of our YMDT Bands, you will sometimes be asked to be one of the Roadies.

Skills developed are

  • team building skills
  • communication skills
  • knowledge of a live band stage set up
  • sound check and Audio Engineering skills.

This involves:

  • Meeting at an arranged time at the band rooms.
  • At least two vehicles and a full band turnout.
  • All gear required will be loaded into vehicles.
  • All gear will be carried into venue.
  • Drummers to take full charge of dismantling then setting up the drum kit.
  • Guitarists and Bass players to take charge of respective amps and guitar set up.
  • Keyboardists likewise.
  • Vocalists set up all mics/stands/leads.
  • At least one person will set up the PA with supervision from tutor.
  • All members must remain available for the soundcheck.
  • At the end of the gig, all members help to pack down and return gear to band rooms.
  • Check in with your band tutor if you need to leave
