About Us
The Youth + Music Development Trust was established on the West Coast of the Southern Alps in 2001 to:
Support young people in their quest for musical expression for the purpose of performance and self-development. Facilitate training and educational opportunities and resources for young people in all aspects of musical development. Mentor groups and individuals wishing to develop their musical skills These goals are met through the mentoring/tutoring of youth bands for high profile gigs such as the SMOKEFREEROCKQUEST. YMDT also host regular workshops and THE GIG – Open Music Forum, held each year during NZ Music Month.
